EH Vaage Steamship Expedition

Haaheim Gaard has bought the old trading town "EH Vaage Dampskibskespedisjon" and "Gamle Uggdal Dampbageri", anno 1887!

Down on Uggdalseidet lies the old trading town "EH Vaage". Housefather Torstein has been looking at it for a long time, and dreamed of everything it could become. Engolai H. Vaage started a land trade and steamship expedition there in 1887. His wife brought NOK 30,000 as a dowry, with this they built the new shop and bakery in 1902. Down here there was a dairy, post office, steamship wharf and land trade. Gamle Uggdal Dampbakeri, which is a small stone oven bakery behind the house, is also located here. It was in operation until 1949, and the shop was in operation until 1987.

Here we have started a museum of the old bakery, where we sell locally produced farm products, freshly baked bread and Haaheim's own confectionery chocolate, Haaheim Skolade. In the summer, we have a gastropub, and here you can book private parties for your group. EH Vaage is open at weekends in high season and by appointment all year round.

Welcome

EH Vaage Landhandel is idyllically located down by the sea about 4.5 kilometers from Haaheim Gaard. It's a nice walk from Haaheim. It's easy to cycle down there - but you can also drive. The best thing is to park up in the main road and walk down the last bend to the quay and the general store.
