Sandwiches – a quiet meal with a lot to say
At EH Vaage Landhandleri & steamship expedition we stick to what is real, what is local – and what has tasted good for generations. Our sandwiches are made with care, butter on the bread and a glimpse of history in every mouthful.
A slice of good bread, preferably wholemeal, spread with butter, brings flavors that people have appreciated since their grandmother was young: herring and eggs, liver pâté with crispy bacon, roast beef and remoulade – or our smoked and cured trout with egg salad and dill. Each bite is a small piece of culture, served with the smell of coffee in the air and old wooden floors underfoot or perhaps a small pill cabin.
We believe in what lasts, and that a good dining experience starts with respect for the craft. That's why the sandwich takes its time – both on the plate and around the table.
Welcome in. We keep the taste of the past alive, with our hearts in the present.
